Unique sconce by sa:k design studio
The Lost & Found series by Stina Henriksson explores how we value what is made to be consumed—and discarded. Curated by Common Sense.
poetic connection
The artwork is made from 100% recycled candle wax from restaurants around Malmö, Sweden. By hand-dipping like in traditional candle making the designer creates new objects. It’s a slow process - warm wax is heavy and deform the shapes. The wax is poured into cast aluminium jars made with the Cire perdue-method (Lost wax) from the dipped wax originals, giving each object a unique expression from the almost organic growing wax surface. In this circular process, aluminium becomes a permanent memory of something fleeting.

sa:k design studio
Stina Henriksson is an industrial designer based in Malmö, Sweden. In 2021, she founded sa:k design studio. Her practice is interdisciplinary, exploring form, materials, and production methods. The name sa:k is a playful nod to letters from her full name, but also a framework for her work – a study of "things": physical, abstract, and conceptual.
