As expected, there was a huge turn out following the breaking news of the Back to the Future Marty McFly inspired Nike Hyperdunk just days before the release. Making sure aficionado’s got what they waited so eagerly for, the good people at Undefeated set up a surprise for the ages. Not only did Mr.Laker show up but he showed up in retro fashion, with the timeless classic DMC Delorean by his side. The first 10 people in line, got to meet Kobe Bryant, take a picture with him and even get his autograph on the highly sought after sneakers, after a long wait that extended past 24 hours.

As all of you may already know, Kanye West worked with A-Trak to produce a 43 minute record for Nike Running. What you may not know is that Kanye had a little cut lined up for Lupe to be on it, but sadly the track was not approved by Nike. So, to show some love from one Chicago MC to another, Yeezy released the song on his blog, which has Lupe rhyming well over A-Trak’s ominous beat. Most of Lu’s lyrics have nothing to do with sneakers, but that’s unimportant considering how nice his flow sounds. Chicago’s definitely the hot spot for hip-hop right now, these guys just keep bringing the heat, enjoy.

Undefeated in Santa Monica will mark the first release location of the highly anticipated “Marty McFly” inspired Nike Hyperdunk. Featuring Nike’s newest hi-tech Flywire technology along with speckled midsoles, an amazing colorway and Back to the Future-esque badging, not to mention the glowing soles, these shoes are the total collector’s item. Along with this occasion comes a tee featuring a tribute to Kobe Bryant’s 2008 MVP season. There will also be an un-announced special guest in attendance, could it be #24 himself? Puma has been bringing out plenty of collaboration models, and their latest is this pair of Puma First Rounds, which was worked on by artist Han Cholo, who is actually an LA - based jewelry designer. The shoes feature a reflective gold leather upper, along with royal purple satin accents, and Olde English script. The Goldie Han nickname has been given to them, and they carry the jewelry theme to a whole other level. Unfortunately, they are limited to Han Cholo’s stores and retail for $300

Vans Syndicated and legendary skater Steve Olson -one of the first skateboarders to get into the punk rock scene in the 70s- worked together on a pack of two sneakers for the Fall ’08 line. The sneakers come in the high top and low top version, and both models feature a black upper with embossed suede snake skin, a white mid-sole and also a white toe-cap. The Vans Syndiate x Steve Olson pack will be released this summer, right after the WTAPS releases.

The upper features tone on tone screening of those years (the companies wonder years, not those of the brilliant Fred Savage staring show). At a recent New Balance exhibition in Shanghai, the upcoming China Mask 576 collection was unveiled alongside this never before seen limited edition 576. Unlike the previous three-pack of 576s, this version features a complicated execution, creating a design which differs from left shoe to right shoe. Numerous Chinese Opera references can be seen as well, keeping in line with the sneaker’s theme. Available exclusively within Southeast Asia in August, limited to 576 pairs.
